Vincent J. Cavallaro has owned and operated a private physical therapy practice since 1989, bringing decades of experience grounded in hospital-based care. His clinical background spans inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, and home care settings, enabling him to deliver comprehensive, continuity-focused treatment. He has specialized expertise in electromyography, orthotics and prosthetics, and the management of orthopedic joint replacements.
Before establishing his private practice, Vincent served as Vice President of Rehabilitation at an academic medical center, where he directed inpatient, sub-acute, hospital-based, and outpatient rehabilitation services for Stroke, neurological, ICU, Cardiac, Orthopedic, and Trauma patients. This leadership experience continues to shape his approach, ensuring patients receive care informed by the standards and coordination of a hospital environment within a personalized private practice setting. Vincent has been an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1980 and the Brooklyn/Staten Island District of the New York Physical Therapy Association since 1984, reflecting his longstanding commitment to professional excellence and advancement in the field.
In addition to his clinical and administrative expertise, Vincent has held adjunct faculty appointments at Long Island University, SUNY Downstate, and New York University, contributing to the education and mentorship of future physical therapists. He has also served as an arbitrator for the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board. He is a graduate of the SUNY Downstate College of Health Related Professions.
